When Respawn launched the original Titanfall, it became the highest-rated new IP on Xbox One and remained that way for over 2 years! Those are some big robotic shoes to fill but when you’ve got a talented team that’s worked together on great games like Modern Warfare 1 & 2, no challenge is too great. Titanfall 2 expands on the foundation of Titanfall with deeper multiplayer, a refined movement system, and for the first time, a thrilling and unique single player story that’s unlike anything else out there.
Here are the ten top reasons why Titanfall 2 is a must-play game that shatters your expectations for a typical shooter.
10. All Maps, Modes, and More are Free After Launch
No Season Pass required: all maps & modes will be free in Titanfall 2 Multiplayer. This means no splitting up the community and it all starts with the legendary Angel City map, remastered from the original Titanfall. This means once you’ve purchased Titanfall 2, your investment includes a full single player campaign, the full multiplayer maps and modes, and long-term support with no hidden costs. You can pre-order the game to play 3 days early, but it will never cost you extra.
Titanfall 2 wants to bring a spirit of fun discovery back to shooters. Playful and often funny, the tone of the characters and the story they tell provides a fresh experience at a time when shooters are almost exclusively dark and serious. The environments of Typhon are full of mysteries to explore as you discover the best way to approach combat or solve some puzzle-lite obstacles.
8. Lightning Fast Movement
The original Titanfall was known for fast movement, and Respawn has built on that foundation with further expanded Pilot mobility. Titanfall 2 introduces the grappling hook and slide which open up even more options for players to whip around the map like never before. Be careful: once you play Titanfall 2, everything else is going to feel incredibly slow.
So, run, jump, slide, and wall run your way to spectacular moments in Titanfall 2, but remember not to play it like every other shooter out there. Don’t camp, as there’s nothing easier to pick off than a stationary target. Keep those boots off the ground and take your game to new heights by stringing together wall runs and picking up speed.

This is for the smart gamers looking for the next big thing. If your friend tells you to jump off a building in Titanfall 2, you definitely should do it, and then double-jump over to another building to keep your momentum going.
2. Innovative Gameplay
Titanfall changed the game with wall-running and double-jumps – now must-haves for futuristic first-person shooters. With deadlier weaponry and a stronger Pilot-Titan bond, Titanfall 2 is here to re-set that bar sky high.
In Single Player, we don't want to give it away, but Respawn and their team continue to innovate in the FPS genre as they have throughout their history of making games. Your friends will be talking about this one for a long time – don't spoil it.
1. Single Player
For the first time, Titanfall 2 will take players on a journey deep into the world of The Frontier as Jack Cooper, a militia rifleman with aspirations of becoming a Pilot. Stranded behind enemy lines, he forms an unusual partnership with BT-7274, a veteran Vanguard-class titan. Jack and BT must combine their abilities and risk everything to survive together against overwhelming odds.
The Titanfall 2 single-player story immerses players in a world of deadly wonders in a variety of missions. We want to be innovate beyond the corridor shooter that fans expect with features including:
The Single Player campaign is loaded with memorable moments and tough battles. Square up against the biggest villains on the Frontier in your Vanguard Titan. Find the right loadout combination and keep an eye out for batteries if you want to survive.
You won't spend your time in Single Player doing the same thing over and over. There will be Pilots fighting grunts, Titans fighting Titans, and slower moments where you must utilize your movement abilities and puzzle-solving skills to advance. Bring along your creativity, as not every boss is going to be stopped with pure firepower. Titanfall 2 provides an incredibly fun, fluid, and thrilling combat experience. But beware, you won't always have your trusty Titan by your side.
This is not the bombastic, glorified-cutscene, rollercoaster ride that you might expect. It’s the personal story of a Pilot and Titan coming together under extreme circumstances to complete a mission vital to the Frontier. It is a story of their journey and the bond that grows between them.
Titanfall 2 will be available on Xbox One, PS4, and PC on October 28th, we can't wait to see you on the Frontier.
